HEN TO PAN

Hen to Pan (Ἕν τὸ Πᾶν —"the One is the All") is a moving-image work developed within the the ongoing collaboration of Prima Materia. The piece engages with archaic states of consciousness, guided by a storyteller who leads an anonymous, limbless body through a perpetual, and at times violent, rhythm of ritualistic formation and deformation. This figure acts as an archetypal vessel: ancient and exposed to elemental forces such as erosion, inertia and collapse.
The body slips between states of matter and becoming, evoking mythic cycles of self-consumption and renewal. Echoing the ouroboros, where destruction and generation are bound within the same loop. A serpentine force threads through these passages, turning inward, consuming itself, and resolving into a self-fertilized, androgynous form.
Hen to Pan extends my broader interest in the permeability of bodies and landscapes, while offering a vision of early consciousness in which materials, instincts, and myth coalesce
into a single, cyclical field.
